Fossils Activities

1. Types of fossils activity:

Fossil types can be confusing for kids. With this cool activity, your students will learn the different fossil categories and write the definition of each type next to it. The definition sheet will be glued on their notebook with an example picture.

2. Fossils pockets activity

It’s very important that your kids understand the 4 different categories of fossils. So in this activity, your students will be given a group of sentences where they will have to insert each sentence in the correct pocket.

3. Clay fossil activity: by thiscraftyfamily

Time to get the students’ hands dirty. In this fun activity, your students will create their own fossils by using soft clay, brown paint and some toys.

4. Pasta fossil activity: Kindergartenworksheetsandgames

This awesome interactive activity will allow your students to use their creativity. Every child has heard a lot of stories about dinosaurs. So, in this experiment students will use pasta, glue and construction paper to build their dinosaur fossil.

5. Drawing fossils activity: by ArtProjectforkids

Do you want an exciting activity that will help your students learn more about the different fossil shapes? In this activity, your students will have to use their imagination and choose different objects, insects, or anything else that comes to mind. Then, they will color the paper brown to make it look old and outline the fossil they chose.

Different shapes of fossils will be printed, laminated, and buried in a bucket full of sand. One of the coolest activities your students can come across is this DIY dinosaur dig activity. First, your students will have to make the sand using simple ingredients while hiding different shapes of fossils. The students will then start digging in the sand to find the mystery fossil using some excavation tools.

Are your students obsessed with slime and dinosaurs? Why not combine them for the coolest lesson about fossils. In this experiment, your students will be able to create their own fossils using their cool dinosaur toys and slime.

They will then cover it with a piece of glass and add a magnet in the back of it so it will look shiny. These cool looking fossils are great for decoration for everyone to their great work.

10. Mystery fossil: By Mybaba

This activity will make your students work to find the mystery fossil. Your kids will have to use a few materials: little containers, foil, brush, plaster of paris and small toys. They will bury the toys in the mix of the plaster of paris then after it dries it will look like a small rock. Then the students will have to carefully dig in the rock to remove the object inside.
