9 Awesome Activities You should Try:

1. Pangaea Puzzle:

This Pangaea puzzle is the perfect way for students to familiarize themselves with the different continents. It will help them figure out where the continents go and connect by putting the pieces in the right places.

2. Foldable Questions:

This interactive notebook foldable is an excellent tool for students to have in their notebooks. They can write their answers under the flaps, making it easy for them to revisit it whenever needed.

3. Types of Plate Boundaries:

Guide your kids in learning the difference between convergent, divergent, and transform boundaries. Have them describe, draw a matching picture, and provide an example for each type of plate boundary. It’s a fun way for them to practice and learn!

4. Identify the Plate Tectonics:

Students can use the word bank to match and write the plate tectonics next to the correct numbers in the picture.

5. Plate Tectonics with Kinetic Sand:

Let’s make some mountains! This is a great way to teach your students how mountains form due to the movement of tectonic plates. With some wooden blocks and homemade kinetic sand, you can demonstrate how pushing the blocks around can cause hills and mountains to form.

6. Modeling Plate Boundaries with Crackers and Jam:

Why not add a little more fun for your students by using crackers and jam to show them the differences between the three plate boundaries categories: convergent, divergent and transform.

7. Edible Tectonic Plate Oreo Activity:

Who doesn’t love Oreos and cream? This simple activity will help your students understand the principle of plates forms and movements by using just a few ingredients.

8. Orange Plate Tectonics Activity:

This is a healthy activity that demonstrates the different layers and plates movements using only an orange. This experiment is very realistic as the orange shaped as the earth, the orange peels are the plates and the inner area is the earth layers.

9. Mountains Forms:

Many students have trouble understanding how mountains form. This fun activity will show your students how mountains form when the Earth’s layers move. This can be done at home or in the class by using only 2 plastic containers and a few towels.
